VBK deliver illumination not lights: instead of applying factored products without considering the unique properties of a site we design with light as a medium, enhancing the subject rather than the method of illumination. 

Design Development is by definition the process of determining the feasibility of any scheme, often requiring altering elements of the building envelope and fit-out design in order to implement it.

Our over-riding intent is to conceal lighting hardware wherever possible.  This requires detailed coordination with architects at the very beginning of any project's design, creating cavities for luminaires and conduits for cabling. 

Working closely with project consultants during site visits is crucial in identifying and overcoming any conflicts between Mechanical, Structural & Electrical services. 

The best ideas may never be realised if not properly conveyed to those expected to execute them. The quality of documentation is an important factor in ensuring our designs are properly implemented. 

We carry out all commissioning of our projects. It is an incredibly important part of the process, putting the finishing touches to a scheme, ensuring everything is completed correctly.
